Urban Decay: Naked 3 Palette

I saw the news on Facebook yesterday that Urban Decay has confirmed a third Naked Palette {Rose Neutrals} will be released. I am so excited!

Update: Head over to Urban Decay right away because the Naked 3 Palette has launched, and can be ordered today for $52!!

I have the original Naked Palette and the Naked Basics Palette. They have become the only eyeshadows that I use. The Naked Basics Palette includes six matte neutrals.  If I’m having a lazy day, but want a bit of color I usually use them solo.  I also like to use these underneath some of the shades from the Naked palette to pump up the drama.

DIY Upholstered Headboard

Ever since we upgraded our bed, we’ve been headboard-less.  Honestly we’ve been so busy; it just hasn’t really been a priority.  But lately I’ve been feeling like we just kind of threw some furniture in our house, slapped paint on some walls and have been living with it.  It’s been bugging me that every room is like half done.  I’ve been wanting to finish just ONE room.   So we decided to start with our bedroom.

We had already upgraded our bed, painted the room, and gotten new window treatments.  I just couldn’t decide on a headboard.  What I liked was crazy expensive, plus we couldn’t really agree on one headboard we were in love with.  When you’re shelling out a grand or more on something, in my opinion, you really need to love it.  So I started thinking, how hard could it really be to build our own headboard?  I pitched the idea to G and he was surprisingly game for it, so last weekend we made it our little project.  It didn’t take long, and it actually was pretty easy!  Here’s how we did it:

30 Things I’m thankful for – week 2

This November, I wanted to challenge myself to post something each day that I am thankful for. This is part 2 of a 5 part series, scroll to the bottom for links to the other weeks.

November 2013

4. I am thankful for the men and women who have served our country, those who continue to serve our country, and those who paid the ultimate price to protect our country and freedoms. I am also thankful for their families, as they are also making sacrifices. We should all be thankful for these men and women today, and every day and pray for their safe return home.

Color Combos I Love: Part Three {Beachy Blues}

I’ve been so terrible about posting lately! I’m excited to finally share the third installment of color combos I love. I decided to showcase a color that I haven’t really blogged about at all… Blue!  To be honest, I like blue but it’s always been my sister, Michele’s color.  If we were playing a game that required choosing colors, hers was blue.  She was always wearing blue, it was her favorite color.  It has kind of stuck, and even now when shopping blue makes me think of her.  So, while I love blue it will not be one of the colors I use for my wedding.. but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun styling a blue wedding here on the blog!

A romantic destination wedding set on a tropical beach would be so much fun- and the perfect place to incorporate.. you guessed it the color blue!

Seriously, could you have a more naturally breathtaking ceremony setting than this one at the St. Regis Bali Resort.  I think not!
