I’ve recently finalized my bridal party decisions—but I’ve yet to actually ask anyone yet. While I prepare to ask everyone, I’ve been doing some brainstorming! I created a secret board on Pinterest, and went crazy pinning bridesmaid dresses I love. This way, once I ask each person, I’ll give her access to the board so she can see what I’m thinking. I thought this would be a good way to share and gather feedback from everyone at once. Then when we go to the store to try on dresses we can focus our efforts.
Since I just can’t wait I thought I’d share a few of my favorites here with you all! I’d love to know what you think! Ignore the colors of the dresses below; these are just the designer’s sample pictures. If you want more information on the dresses you can click on the pictures, and they’ll bring you to the website where you can see sizing, color and price information!
I don’t think I want my bridesmaids to wear long dresses- because it could be pretty warm at the end of May. With that being said, I’m not completely ruling out a long dress- here are a few longer dresses that I found and liked:
I’m obsessed with the neckline of this dress ! It definitely needs something right where the seam is between the top and bottom– and I personally think it would look absolutely stunning in black with a pretty (sparkly!) belt/sash
Another long dress with a unique neckline is this number by Alfred Sung (you’ll see a shorter version below, because I like the style so much!) I think accessorizing this dress with a necklace might be too much, so I’d probably go for some gorgeous statement earrings.
This next dress by Dessy has beautiful draping, and I think it looks like it has potential to be flattering on women of many different shapes and sizes.
I also really like this next dress by Wtoo, which is kind of like a strapless dress, but it brings in the one shoulder element with the sheer fabric. I also really like how the sheer overlay carries through the dress; it adds a nice element of dimension to the skirt of the dress.
The dresses below are all shorter, and a length that I think will be a better fit for my May wedding. If you see one you like, it’s possible that it does come in a longer version so don’t be discouraged!
I love this next number by Watters in general, and I love it even more in black! It’s such a classy dress and would be so easy to accessorize with a pretty necklace.
This Saison Blanche dress is a bit longer than the other options I’m sharing today- it’s definitely classy.
I’m kind of on a roll here with the shorter V neck dresses huh!? I’ll keep the trend going with this next look by Kennedy Blue. I really, really, really like this dress! It has a pretty sheer overlay and I like the small bow at the waist of the dress.
Ok can I just share that I’m LOVING almost the whole Kennedy Blue line. This line is one by a wedding dress store based in Minnesota The Wedding Shoppe, but they have a great online shopping experience! One of my clients actually tipped me off to the site, and it’s been a great resource. I like the ability to see a variety of dresses from different designers at once. I also think that the site provides great filtering capabilities. It’s worth checking out if you’re trying to get ideas!
Here’s another Kennedy Blue dress that I really like. It’s pretty different from the rest of what I’ve got pinned but I think it is just so cute! I even like something like this in white/ivory to wear to a rehearsal dinner!
Here’s another all lace dress that I’m really into, this one is by Watters. I think this is a gorgeous dress, but your bridesmaids all need to be pretty long and lean to pull it off best. I’d accessorize it with some pretty drop pearl earrings for a totally classy look.
This next one by Donna Morgan just might be my favorite of all of the dresses I’m sharing today. I love the styling, and I think it looks so great in black. The length is right on, not too long or too short. I think the neckline is flattering, and I’m confident I could accessorize it beautifully!
This next Alfred Sung number might look familiar, you saw it’s longer version above. What do you think, do you like it better long.. or short?
Here’s another great Alfred Sung number that I’m liking- I really like the bow. I think it brings just the right amount of decoration to the front of the dress without being over the top.
The last two dresses I’m sharing today are both by Jim Hjelm. They are tied for my second favorite dress… I like them both for different reasons. The first, is very pretty and I love the layers. I think this dress would be very flattering on all of my bridesmaids. With a pretty sparkly sash this dress would be a show stopper.
This next one features a sheer one shoulder overlay, which I’m strangely drawn to. I also really like the detail of how the sheer fabric wraps around the waist. I think it provides nice definition and is a really pretty dress.
What do you think? How did you decide on a bridesmaid dress for your wedding, I’d love to know!
